WestCAD Services Ltd. is a multi-discipline operation servicing projects in the Structural, Marine Structure, and Architectural.
A look through the 34 year history of WestCAD Services, it shows we have supported a number of engineering and manufacturing companies, as well as building contractors and private individuals with their process of producing the final product. The size of the company gives us an advantage in staying competitive in today’s market.
WestCAD Services has been a proud part of the Fisheries & Oceans, Small Craft harbor group for the past 30+ years. We have work directly with their engineers as well as the team of sub-contractors, in producing drawings required for repairs and further expansions to the many harbours along our coastal waters.
Over the past couple of years, with a lot of people working from home. We have seen a spike in home renovation, not only a redesign of a home’s interior but a drive towards outdoor recreation. Many home owners have taken this opportunity to add a new patio cover, pergolas or sunroom to enhance your own private playground. All of course requiring city permits.

WestCAD Services Ltd is currently under the lead of Eric Burnell, Senior Project Manager.
Eric is a lead CAD Designer and Project manager with 30 years’ of experience. He has carried out design and drafting work using both the AutoCAD and SolidWorks design packages. Eric is a versatile and technically accomplished CAD professional with a broad based experience in multiple disciplines. His primary focus is structural, with a secondary focus in Mechanical, Architectural, Electrical, and Civil drafting and design.

Summary of Professional Experience
Having worked with various levels of government and private corporations throughout my career, I have gained substantial experience with a multitude of projects across disciplines.
Working closely with the engineering staff at Tetra Tech EBA, He has completed a variety of civil and structural projects around the province. These include concrete floats and barges, park structures, bridges and gangways for pedestrian and vehicle use. Civil layouts and sections using the topography and bathymetry for further design purposes.
For Small Craft Harbours, Eric created the Steveston harbour plans by combing multiple drawings, some created by WestCAD and others supplied by the client and their surveyors. The plans were created showing the complete warehousing and waterfront area of each of the two government harbours and surrounding property. The project also required the detailed layouts of the individual warehouses and wharf structures, highlighting the safety and environmental equipment locations.
Using surveyed bathymetry, He has created 3D harbour basins for several locations including Pangnirtung and Rushbrooke harbours. These models included the floats and anchoring systems.
Some of the electrical projects we have completed. We created the schematic & wiring diagrams as well as the loop diagrams for the Sperling Sewage Pumping Station. Also for the City of New Westminster Electrical department, we recreated a series of manual drawings in AutoCAD.
Working with Fraser Health Authority we created Data and Communication plans of all their facilities for implementation of the new facilities management program.
